Brainspotting 101

Brainspotting (BSP) is a powerful, brain-body therapy that helps you process trauma, anxiety, chronic stress, and emotional pain—by tapping into your nervous system in a way talk therapy can’t always reach.

Brainspotting allows access to subcortical brain processes where trauma and subconscious emotions are stored, offering a neurobiologically informed complement to talk therapy.

It works by identifying specific “brainspots”—eye positions linked to stored emotions and body sensations. As you focus on one of these spots, your brain naturally begins to release and reprocess stuck trauma, without needing to talk through the details.

My favorite things about Brainspotting, are that it is:

 🔹 Safe. Gentle. Somatic.
🔹 Effective for PTSD, chronic illness, performance blocks, grief, and more.
🔹 Especially helpful when you feel “stuck” in traditional therapy.

Here are some things my clients have said::
“I don’t know why this worked… but I finally feel relief.”

"I use Brainspotting because some pain lives deeper than words, and this helps us gently reach and heal it at the root."

“I witnessed my son being harmed in an incident at school and every waking moment this traumatic incident was replaying on a loop in my head. Cassie used brainspotting to help me go on a journey using my eye movement and my response to the places I focused on. Through this journey within my own mind, I was shocked at how much came up for me.  After the session the actual memory didn’t  even exist in my mind anymore, as if it had been surgically extracted  from my mind. I remember what happened before the incident but not the impact of incident itself. I walked away with peace that hasn’t gone away, as well as insights from within myself that make me feel empowered as a mother”.

What are you ready to no longer be activated by? If you’ve tried everything and still feel overwhelmed, Brainspotting might be what your nervous system has been waiting for.
